Unity and recent changes: Reflecting on our games

Dear valued players and friends,

In light of Unity’s recent announcement, we find ourselves at a crossroads, necessitating a period of reflection and consideration for the path ahead. As many of you may know, we have two games, Mindless Breakpoint and Nyck, currently in advanced stages of development on Unity. Unity, for us, holds historical significance, being one of the engines where we initially laid the foundation for our business, albeit in its nascent stages. However, the recent announcement regarding changes in the pricing structure and installation costs has thrown a curveball that has made it increasingly challenging for us to chart a sustainable course with this engine.

Before we make any definitive decisions, we are eagerly awaiting further details from Unity, hoping for insights that might illuminate a viable path forward. In the interim, we have opted to diversify our development approach by embracing Unreal Engine for another game project.

In the upcoming days, we intend to announce the resumption of development for one of the following titles: “The Hidden Island” (we are aware of the anticipation surrounding this title!), “BlackFlag Crew” or “Fogreach: Shadow Whisperers” (prototypes already at an advanced stage).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your unwavering patience and continued support throughout this journey. Your feedback and loyalty mean the world to us, and we are committed to navigating these challenges to deliver the best gaming experiences possible.

Unity has been a valuable part of our history, and while this juncture necessitates some difficult decisions, it’s also an opportunity for us to explore new horizons and continue our dedication to creating memorable games. We will keep you updated as we gather more information and chart our course for the future.

Thank you for being an integral part of our community, and together, we look forward to exciting adventures in the world of gaming.

Warm regards,

Itamde Studio
