Cat Dimension is a whimsical indie game we developed that takes players on an interdimensional adventure with feline protagonists. We blend puzzle-solving with platformer elements in a surreal, cat-themed universe filled with dimensional portals, gravity-defying environments, and quirky challenges.
Dimensional Puzzle Mechanics
Our core gameplay revolves around navigating between dimensions, each with its own visual style and physics rules. Players solve puzzles by switching dimensions to manipulate objects, unlock pathways, and overcome obstacles across multiple realities. The dimensional shifting mechanic we designed adds a strategic layer to traditional platforming, requiring spatial thinking across parallel worlds.
Visual Design and World Building
Each dimension we created features a distinct artistic identity, from neon-lit cyberpunk cityscapes to dreamlike watercolor landscapes. Our visual variety keeps exploration fresh while reinforcing the dimensional travel mechanic. We brought the cat protagonists to life with expressive animations, idle behaviors, and playful environmental interactions.
Development Process
Our development of Cat Dimension involved iterative prototyping of the dimensional shifting system, extensive playtesting to balance puzzle difficulty, and creative collaboration on art and sound design. The project gave us valuable experience in scope management for indie game development, from initial concept through final polish and multi-platform release preparation.
