The Hidden Island is a third-person survival adventure we are developing, set on a mysterious island inhabited by dinosaurs. Built with Unreal Engine 5, we combine exploration, resource gathering, and survival mechanics in a richly detailed 3D open world.
Gameplay and Mechanics
Players must navigate a treacherous environment filled with prehistoric predators, scarce resources, and environmental hazards. The gameplay loop we designed centers on exploration, crafting tools and shelters, and tactical dinosaur combat. We created a progression system that rewards exploration and discovery while maintaining tension through a dynamic day-night cycle.
Technical Development with Unreal Engine 5
Our project leverages UE5βs advanced technologies including Nanite for detailed geometry and Lumen for real-time global illumination. We implemented dinosaur AI using complex behaviour trees, a blueprint-based crafting system, and procedural environments to ensure variety in island exploration throughout the game.
Project Status
The Hidden Island is currently in active development. The core survival mechanics and dinosaur ecosystem are functional, and we are working on map expansion, biome diversification, and overall gameplay polish. This project represents our most ambitious production in the field of game development with Unreal Engine.
